Melody Music Studio provides students with traditional classical piano skills, giving all students, beginner to advanced, with an emphasis on theory, note reading, fingering, and rhythm. Young Students and special needs students should have the following skills: read at a first grade level, understand right & left, be able to count to 10, and have the ability to sit for a 30 minute lesson.

Lesson Structure

Each lesson is a private lesson and lasts for 30 minutes. Each student will have a lesson opportunity one time per week, excluding Holiday Weeks (see calendar).

Pricing

$80 per student per month due the first lesson of each month in the form of cash or check made out to Judi Kidd.
There is also a $40 material fee per student per year, due on the first lesson in September.

Ear Technique

Hearing plays a large part in music proficiency. During each lesson engaging ear training activities are used to develop this skill.

Finger Technique

An emphasis is placed on proper finger techniques, things such as touch, curved fingers, finger placement, using drills developed by using the Finger Power series and Hanon Method..

Rhythm

Rhythm is important to classical music methods, each week rhythm games are included in beginner lessons, such as snapping, clapping and hands on games. Older and advanced students have the opportunity to play with the metronome and use digital technology platforms.
